Summer Reading

The English department has set the summer reading titles for next year. Selections include an all-middle school and an all-high school read; also, students in each grade level will be required to read an additional title. We hope that the all-school reads will facilitate community building in our school by encouraging collaboration between teachers in different disciplines and conversations between and among students in different grade levels. Guidelines to accompany the summer reading will be distributed in English classes before May 18 and are available here and here.

Our Proud Pearl High School Heritage

How many of us even know that there is a museum in our building?  The juniors in Mary Catherine Bradshaw's U.S. History classes got a first-hand look when they investigated MLK's predecessor, Pearl High School, by studying the exhibits in the Pearl Archives.  Find out what they discovered by visiting this link from NewsChannel 5's School Patrol.

Our Mission

MLK's mission is to prepare students with proven academic talent for successful post-secondary study through a highly challenging curriculum which emphasizes science and math.
