MLK Student Crowned Miss Teen Spirit of the South!
From Children First! Tuesday, August 17, 2010 Posted by: nmashburn at 1:03:46 PM
Shanese Brown, a student at Martin Luther King, Jr., has been crowned the new MIss Teen Spirit of the South. During her full-scale pageant debut, Shanese surprised the judges with her beauty and grace. According to Tiffany Collier Love, pageant coordinator, "She is amazing. It was her first big pageant and she literally came out of nowhere. We are so proud of her."
For winning, Shanese was awarded a $1,000 scholarship which will help as she trains for the Miss Teen Tennessee competition. That pageant will be held in October; the winner advances to the Miss Teen USA Pageant which is owned by Donald Trump and held in the Bahamas. And if Love's intuition holds true, Shanese could very well add a few more titles to her name.
Shanese will also be featured in an upcoming Lifetime series. The network fell in love with Shanese's "Cinderella" story and plans to share it with the nation.
