Mission & Philosophy
Our mission is to prepare students with proven academic talent for postsecondary study through a highly challenging curriculum which emphasizes science and mathematics.
Goals
- Develop a high level of proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and problem-solving (application, analysis, and synthesis)
- Promote communication and interpersonal discipline necessary for positive self-concept, ethical and responsible behavior, and leadership
- Encourage creativity and develop appreciation for the arts and humanities
Attendance
School hours are 7:45 a.m. until 2:45 p.m. MLK has been recognized for outstanding attendance; we believe that prompt and regular attendance is essential to school success. A written statement is required from the parent/guardian explaining a student's absence. This notice is turned into the office on the day the student returns to school.
