Messages for students can be left at the main office at 329-8400. Please note that unless it is a real emergency, messages to students will not be delivered until midday or prior to dismissal at the end of the day. Last minute messages may not be delivered that day due to time constraints.

Tina Spielberg, the secretary in the guidance office, is the person to call about general information about the school when school is in session. She is also the contact person regarding free or reduced cost lunches and bus passes for those who are eligible for free and reduced cost lunches. You can reach Ms. Spielberg at 329-8400.

Ms. Spielberg is also the contact person for getting homework assignments for those who are absent from school for two or more days. If you call her before 10:30 am, she will collect all the student's homework assignments for the days absent and have the information in her office at the end of the day.

The Web Site

MLK's website, www.mlkmagnet.mnps.org, has been built and maintained by teachers, parent volunteers, and students. It is a great way to get basic information about the school. General information about Metro schools in can also be found at www.mnps.org.

The E-mail List Service

This service is offered by the PTSA. If you have an e-mail address and did not fill out a directory form at the pre-registration orientation meeting, we strongly encourage you to provide that information by subscribing now!

The Communications Committee summarizes all-important announcements and sends this information out to all those registered on the list service. It is a great way to get current information about the school and what is happening.

The MLK Newsletter, The Royal Times
