English Speakers of Other Languages
classes serve adult residents who are foreign born and have limited English language proficiency.  ESOL classes for Internationals are provided by the Adult Education program and offered in schools, community centers, and worksites throughout the county for non-native residents.  Classes are small and meet twice weekly for two hour sessions.

English Language Training for Refugees serves only newly arrived refugees who are referred to classes by resettlement agencies.  Students receive the English language instruction necessary for self-sufficiency and for obtaining and retaining jobs.  Classes are conveniently located in areas where refugees live and work.
