ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCIES

The Metropolitan Nashville Board of Education announces a vacancy in the following position:
PEER ASSISTANCE, LEADERSHIP AND SUPPORT PROGRAM (PALS) High School and/or Middle School Teacher Preferred

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must possess a valid Tennessee Teaching License, a Tennessee Driver’s License, and must be willing to use personal vehicle for transportation for the performance of their job (MNPS will reimburse mileage).
EXPERIENCE: Successful teaching experience in grades K-12. Show evidence of providing direct student instruction in your current teaching position. Applicants must have a minimum of ten years teaching experience and must be tenured with the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools.
RESPONSIBILITIES: A PAL should be able to interact effectively with colleagues; exhibit a strong working knowledge of best practices in research-based teaching concepts and strategies; possess excellent written and oral communication skills; demonstrate the ability to assist teachers in planning lessons designed to increase student achievement; model best practices in teaching; have a strong background in successful classroom management strategies; demonstrate a proven ability to accommodate for the needs of diverse learners.
SALARY: Teacher Salary – 10 months, Career Ladder Eligible
It will be necessary to submit the application form, a letter indicating interest in the above named vacancy and a narrative addressing the eleven listed items, along with two letters of recommendation, one from a current principal/supervisor and one from a colleague.
