Your efforts to keep students on track are essential to making the History Day Project meaningful and successful.Please take the time to discuss the project with your child, and help them work to meet the deadlines for the project.You can be a great resource for them in choosing a good topic for research.
One of the most important decisions facing your child is whether he or she will do the project individually or in a group. Please also help them understand the value of good partners in an undertaking such as this.
If your child chooses to work on the project with partners, please participate in the process of partner selection and indicate your approval of his or her choice of partners.
Winning entries in each category will participate in the regional history day competition in Murfreesboro on February 27, 2009.We will leave from school on the MLK bus at 7:30 or before and return by 5:00 on that Friday. Although parental presence will not be required, you will be welcome to come to the contest. Lunch and parking passes will be provided. If enough parents of contest winners join us, we will car-pool rather than take the school bus on the trip.
Please indicate by signing below that you have reviewed this pamphlet and have discussed the project with your child. Your signature also indicates permission for your child to travel via the MLK activity bus or carpool to MTSU on February 27 if his or her project is one of the winners in the MLK competition.
