Beginning the week of August 25, all students in my classes will begin to write observations in a journal notebook each week.
You must use a journal notebook in the style of the Mead Composition books that are sold at nearly every store in the city. They are sewn at the spine and have a hard cardboard cover which lasts better than any other type of notebook; So no other type of notebook will be acceptable.
Topics for the journals are based on where the class should be in our study at the time the journals will be due.
Each entry must be at least 300 words and must be organized into a coherent essay with an identifiable thesis and valid subtopics.
Your essay should be in the appropriate notebook at the beginning of class on the day it is due. If you are planning an excused absence on the day journals are due, you must turn the notebook in early to avoid a late penalty.
Journals due on Thursday for first period; Friday for fourth period, Tuesday for Sixth Period
